Offline Barcode Reader

Privacy Policy

This page describes what stays in your browser and what can be shared when you use this site or its result actions.

Notice

Barcode decoding is performed locally for the camera frames and image files used by the scanner. Separate page integrations and actions you choose, such as opening or searching a result, can involve third parties.

Consent choices

GA4 loads only when Google’s CMP reports analytics consent as granted or not applicable. Unknown or unconfigured consent keeps analytics off. If a European regulations message applies, accept, decline, or manage choices there and reopen it through Privacy and cookie settings in the footer. Reopening pauses analytics on this page; navigation uses the updated choice. Declining does not disable scanning.

Images, camera frames, and results

The camera view is processed frame by frame in the browser. An uploaded image is read into the browser, and a crop is decoded locally when you choose one. These files are not sent to a remote decoding server by the scanner. Avoid treating a decoded value as verified: recognition may fail or produce an incorrect value.

History and clearing

Scan history is saved in your browser LocalStorage, with up to the latest 100 entries. It includes the decoded text, format, time, and whether the scan came from the camera or an upload. Use the history controls to delete entries or clear the history; browser site-data controls can also remove it. Theme and language preferences may also use LocalStorage.

Actions that can send data elsewhere

Copying stays with the browser clipboard. The result dialog can open an HTTP(S) URL in a new tab or search the decoded text through Google; those actions send the value to the selected service. Sharing or exporting through your device or browser can likewise disclose data to the destination you choose. Check links before opening them.

Analytics, advertising, and hosting

The page includes Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense integrations. Google and other advertising or analytics providers may process cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser/device information, page activity, and prior activity according to their settings and policies. Cloud hosting may receive ordinary request metadata such as IP address, time, user agent, and requested path. Use your browser’s site-data and cookie controls to clear or block local data, and review Google’s information and controls at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://myadcenter.google.com/.
